President Trump’s delay was to allow Democrats and Republicans time to “work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern border”. (courtesy of The Washington Post). According to Reuters, President Trump told reporters at the White House that he didn’t see them as raids.
We’re removing people, all of these people who have come in over the years illegally.
These operations will be focused on newly arrived illegal immigrants to put a cap on the influx of Central Americans at the southwest border, according to Reuters. Migrants rights groups have also released documents that showed past ICE arrests have resulted in the arrests of undocumented immigrants’ agents happened to come across during their raids.
According to The Washington Post, the plans for these operations is to conduct them without announcing any dates in advance and Homeland Security officers are attempting to find a targeted way to go about these operations.
The surprise raids come as hundreds gathered that same week to put a stop to them (the raids) in San Francisco (courtesy of NBC Bay Area). Someone in attendance stated that she was there to stand up to Nancy Pelosi.
“We worked to get her (Nancy Pelosi) into that seat,” Carrie Sterns, a protestor from Never Again said (courtesy of NBC Bay Area), “and we expect her to represent us, and not give away the $4.6 billion that she gave way to keep these camps funded.”
